A musical composition by John Cage, titled As Slow as Possible, is currently being performed in a church in Germany and it won't finish for centuries.
The 639-Year Performance:
- ⛪ The performance began at St. Burchardi Church in 2001 and is scheduled to end in the year 2640
- 🎶 Because the piece is meant to be played as slowly as possible, a specially built automatic organ plays the notes continuously
A Slow Process:
- ⏳ The tempo is so slow that sometimes years pass between one chord change and the next
- 🎟️ People travel from all over the world just to witness a single note change, which is a major event for the local community
